This traditional Indian yogurt drink needs just three main ingredients, yoghurt/curd, mangoes, and sugar.
You don’t really have to wait for mango season to make this lassi. The best part about this quick drink is that you can use frozen mango pieces or canned mango pulp to make this lassi when mangoes are not in season.
When mangoes are in season you can use Alphonso, Kesar or any other sweet mango pieces to make this drink. Avoid using sour mango pieces for this lassi.
A great way to utilise overripe or slightly damaged mangoes that are not that pleasant to eat is to use them up to make this luscious drink.
Sugar should be added according to taste and depending on the sweetness of mangoes.
Green cardamom powder is optional and can be added for extra flavouring. Few strands of saffron can also be used for additional flavour.
Making this refreshing drink couldn’t be simpler, just add all the ingredients in a blending jar and blend everything together, that’s it, Mango Lassi is ready!
Serve it in tall glasses and garnish with few chopped mango pieces if you wish. You can also add a few ice cubes while serving if the weather is very hot, so that it stays refreshing for longer.
