Quick, easy to follow video with step-by-step instructions of how to make Crispy Chicken Nuggets:

Mincing it all up for full flavour

Although an extra step, I still like to mince the skinless, boneless chicken pieces up along with some seasoning, bread crumbs, yogurt and garlic rather than just coating the chicken pieces with spices. This ensures that flavours reach every corner and chicken nuggets are as flavourful as they can be.

Also, mincing helps to shape the nuggets the way you want; square, rectangular, circular, heart shaped, etc.; especially useful when you’re making them for kids, you can make them into whichever shape they fancy.

Seasoning eggs as well as crumbs

Before coating the nuggets, I like to season not just the eggs, but the breadcrumbs too. This makes sure that chicken nuggets are flavourful inside as well as out.

If you want to make really spicy Chicken Nuggets, you can increase the amount of spices and take them up a notch. Also, you can add some red chilli powder while mincing to make them nice and hot!

Make in advance for party or snacks

The beauty about this crispy Chicken Nuggets recipe is that you can make them well in advance and store them in the freezer. They can be kept for up to a month in freezer, just remove and fry them whenever you want. This makes them a perfect starter / appetiser for large parties as they can be prepared ahead of time. Also, perfect as snacks for kids when they are back from school or play and want something quick.

These homemade chicken nuggets are light, crispy and easy to make and taste just like the McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets, give them a go….

Step-by-step instructions with photos:

Add white bread pieces to food processor / grinder and make crumbs.

To this add boneless chicken, 1 tsp salt, ¾ tsp black pepper powder, yogurt, garlic paste and mince/grind this to form a coarse mixture.

Break 2 eggs in a bowl and add 2 pinches of salt and 2 pinches of black pepper, mix well and keep aside.

In another bowl take breadcrumbs, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, red chilli powder, mix well and keep aside.

On a butter paper / parchment paper spread chicken mince mixture. Place another butter/parchment paper on top and roll to form a thick roti.

With the help of some water and spatula smooth its edges to form a square or rectangle.

Now cut this into small square or rectangular pieces with a pizza cutter or knife.

Carefully lift one piece and first dip and coat it completely in plain flour, then in egg and then in breadcrumbs. Repeat these steps for all the pieces.

You can either freeze them in a freezer for up to a month and fry them whenever needed.

Or heat oil in a pan on medium setting and deep fry these chicken nuggets until golden brown.

Your delicious, crispy Chicken Nuggets are ready!
