Quick, easy to follow video with step-by-step instructions of Air Fryer Bread Pudding:
Why Make Bread Pudding in the Air Fryer?
Using an air fryer is one of the best ways to make bread pudding quickly. The circulating heat of the air fryer creates a lightly caramelized top while keeping the inside moist and rich.
Benefits of air fryer bread pudding:
Fast & efficient - no preheating a big oven and is faster than oven-baked bread pudding. The air fryer heats up quickly, needs only 3 mins to preheat and takes just 15 mins cooking time, making it ideal for busy cooks.
Perfect texture - crispy golden top and edges with a soft, creamy center.
Small-batch friendly - ideal for small portions, couples or solo desserts.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Bread Pudding
This easy air fryer bread pudding recipe uses basic ingredients you may already have like milk, butter, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, white bread, raisins and egg. A tiny bit of salt helps enhance the flavor of the pudding.

Using a slightly stale bread (a day-old) helps the pudding soak up the custard better without becoming mushy. Instead of normal white bread you can also use brioche bread (for buttery and decadent texture), challah bread (for sturdy texture that will hold shape while soaking up custard) or french bread (for a firmer, slightly chewier texture).
Tips for the Best Air Fryer Bread Pudding
Mix the mixture well until all the sugar dissolves
Do not skip the resting time as that’s when bread will absorb the flavors
Use an air fryer-safe baking dish or ramekin. A cake tin will also work.
Do not overcook - bread pudding should be moist, not dry.
Check doneness early, as air fryer models vary. It should be golden brown on top and inserted toothpick should come out clean.
Let the bread pudding cool down slightly before serving to allow the custard to fully set.
Air Fryer Bread Pudding Variations
This Air Fryer Bread Pudding is highly customizable. You can add chocolate, dried fruits, nuts or spices you love. Raisins can be replaced with dried cranberries or chocolate chips. You can also add in some chopped pecans or walnuts. Below are some variations:
